Create a pay run

Where: Payroll → Pay runs → Create pay run. Who: payroll.run.manage, and assignment to the group's employer business unit.

A pay run is one payroll period for one group. It starts as a DRAFT.

Create the run

  1. Open Pay runs and select Create pay run.
  2. Fill in the fields:

  1. Save. The run opens with status DRAFT and totals Uncalculated.

The group's employer, currency, frequency, country, jurisdiction and calendar are copied into the run and shown in the Run summary.

One run per period

Two live runs of the same group can't share any date.

"An uncancelled run already covers this group period" means another run of the group overlaps. If the other run was a mistake, cancel it first; then create the new run with a new run number (for example 2026-10B).
