Questions

Why did stock not end up matching my count?

Expected is captured when the line is saved. Posting applies the difference to whatever the balance is at posting time.

Example: expected 100, counted 97, so the variance is −3. Before posting, a delivery adds 10 (the balance is now 110). Posting applies −3, leaving 107.

That's right if the 10 arrived after you counted: 97 counted + 10 new = 107. It's wrong if the 10 were already on the shelf when you counted. To avoid confusion, pause receipts, dispatches and transfers while counting, and post as soon as the count is finished.

Can I correct a saved count line?

No. Saved lines can't be edited or removed, so check before Save line. An unsaved line can be discarded. If a saved line is wrong, don't post that count; ask your inventory manager how to recover. After posting, correct mistakes with an adjustment that mentions the count number in the notes.

Why does a product appear more than once on Inventory Balance?

Each row is one product, variant, warehouse and location. Filter by product to see all its rows.

On Hand says 100 but I can't move 100. Why?

Some of it is reserved. You can only move or reserve Available (On Hand − Reserved).

Can I delete a movement, a warehouse or a location?

No. History must be kept. Correct a movement with a new one, such as an adjustment with notes. Mark warehouses and locations Inactive once they're empty.

I chose the wrong variant. What now?

The stock is now on the wrong variant. Fix it with two adjustments: a Decrease on the wrong variant and an Increase on the right one, both with notes such as "Correcting variant entered in error on 14/02, ref OPENING-2026". Don't use a transfer: transfers move locations, not variants.

I added stock to the wrong location. What now?

Move it to the right location, with a note explaining why.

A sales order failed although we have plenty of stock.

The stock is probably somewhere other than the warehouse's default location. Move it there and try again. See The default location.

Why is a button or page missing?

See Access and permissions. Your role, the module, the optional Stock adjustments feature, and your business-unit access all play a part.

What happens if my connection drops while saving?

Reload the page and check Inventory Balance and Stock Movement before trying again, so you don't record the same change twice.
