Price lists

Who: administrators. Price lists are maintained by an administrator or support; there's no screen to edit them yet. This page explains what to ask for.

A price list is a set of unit prices in one currency. It can apply to everyone, or only to one customer, business unit or warehouse.

Customer-specific prices

Two ways to give one customer their own price:

MethodHowWins over
Customer base-price ruleA BASE_PRICE rule for that customerEvery price list
Customer-specific price listA price list with the customer filled inOnly competes with other lists

Example: Café Aroma negotiates mugs at 4.10. The administrator adds a customer base-price rule: Ceramic Mug, Café Aroma, 4.10. Every Café Aroma mug line now starts at 4.10, whatever the price lists say.

Avoid two lists pricing the same thing

If two active lists both price the same product and variant for the same order, the system picks by variant match and quantity break, not by list priority, so the result may not be the one you expect. Keep one active list per product for each customer, unit and currency combination, and use dates to switch lists over.

Changing prices

Create the new prices with Valid from set to the change date, and set Valid to on the old ones the day before. Orders are priced for their order date, so orders dated before the change keep the old price when re-saved.
