Record dependants and eligibility flags
Dependants are private employee-linked records. They record stated relationships and administrative eligibility flags; they do not automatically enrol anyone in a benefit plan or calculate a tax allowance.

| Date Of Birth | Optional; not in the future |

Add or end a record
- Open Dependants and review existing records.
- Choose Add, complete only the approved necessary information and review eligibility flags.
- Save and reopen the row to verify dates and Yes/No values.
- To end the recorded period, use Edit / close and set Effective To, keeping the full intended record.
Example: Amira's dependant is recorded from 1 October with Benefit Eligible Yes. That flag is not an automatic HEALTH-A enrolment, payroll deduction or age-rule calculation. HR separately applies the organisation's approved policy and maintains the appropriate benefit record.
The current temporal check validates this record's own range. It does not require it to fit an Employment ID or automatically close it on employee termination. Nor does the service enforce a complete duplicate/relationship eligibility model. Review records and policies explicitly.
Recovery
A future date of birth is refused. Browser local-date validation and server validation can differ around date boundaries; the server remains authoritative. An end-before-start error needs corrected dates. The browser's closed marker can appear for any entered end date, including a future one.
If a saved dependant seems absent, reload and check pages/access rather than creating a duplicate. If the record is sensitive or uncertain, arrange authorised correction without copying personal details into shared screenshots. This module offers no hard-delete or dependant self-service verification workflow.
