Record qualifications, skills and credentials
Qualifications are core employment-area records using employment view/manage authority. They attach to the employee rather than one Employment ID. The module records a credential or skill; it does not run a training course or verify an issuing authority automatically.

Maintain the record
- Open Qualifications, inspect existing items and choose Add or Edit / close.
- Select the appropriate type and approved title.
- Enter institution/reference/dates and proficiency where relevant.
- Set Verified only according to the organisation's actual checking process.
- Save and reload to confirm the recorded facts.
Examples
| Situation | Suitable record |
|---|---|
| Completed degree | EDUCATION with title/institution and award date |
| Professional certificate with expiry | PROFESSIONAL_CERTIFICATION with the approved reference and dates |
| Language ability | LANGUAGE with a meaningful proficiency description |
| Job-related skill | SKILL; do not imply a licensed qualification without evidence |
Verified is an administrative flag, not digital verification, external authority approval or automatic job eligibility. Expiry Date does not create a reminder, renew a licence or change employee status. The current browser's generic closed marker does not consistently represent qualification expiry because its logic is based on other end-date fields; inspect Expiry Date itself.
Recovery
An expiry before award is invalid when both are supplied. Optional dates can be absent; do not invent them to fill a form. A reference correction edits the row and increments its version, not a frozen credential revision chain. If a new renewed credential should be separately retained, add an approved separate record and keep the earlier evidence rather than pretending an automatic renewal process exists.
