Before you start

An order pulls information from five other places. If any is missing, the order can't be priced, confirmed or dispatched. Check them once, before your first order.

About prices

The Unit Price shown while you fill in the order is an estimate taken from the variant's sale price in the Catalog. When you save, the system works out the real price from your pricing setup:

  1. a price set for this customer wins;
  2. otherwise a matching price list price;
  3. otherwise a general base price rule.

If none applies, the order can't be saved. There's no pricing setup screen in the application yet; ask your administrator to add prices for new products.

About stock and the default location

  • Confirming checks there's enough Available stock in the whole warehouse, then reserves it at the warehouse's default location.
  • Dispatching takes the goods from the default location.
Keep stock at the default location

Reserving and dispatching happen just after the order is saved. If the default location doesn't hold enough stock, or the warehouse has no default location, the order still shows Confirmed or Dispatched, but stock isn't reserved or deducted, and no message appears. Before confirming, move enough stock to the default location. Afterwards, check Inventory Balance: Reserved should go up after confirming, and On Hand down after dispatching.
