Split amounts across funds

Every donation needs a full allocation. Each row names one active tenant fund and a positive exact amount. A fund appears only once per donation, and all rows must sum exactly to the header amount.

Enter a split

  1. Confirm the donation's total and currency against its evidence.
  2. Add a row for each approved fund.
  3. Select each fund once and enter its amount.
  4. Remove unintended rows and check no amount is blank or zero.
  5. Check the exact sum before saving or generating a correction preview.

Original versus effective allocation

Draft edits replace the allocation set under version control and append history. Once posted, original allocations remain evidence of the initial posting. A permitted financial correction supplies the complete replacement list, creates a new effective revision and leaves the original unchanged.

Example: To reclassify a posted GBP 250 gift from 150/100 to 175/75, submit both rows, not just the 25 difference. The system reverses the current effective journal and posts the full new classification atomically.

The restricted/unrestricted label and description identify the approved fund purpose. The module does not automatically infer how every future expense complies with donor restrictions or create budgets from allocations. Use finance's approved process for spending and recognition decisions.
