Review needs-transfer work and transfer support
A live beneficiary sponsorship is flagged Needs transfer when Care no longer considers the beneficiary sponsorable. Eligibility may change through discharge/closure, consent withdrawal/expiry, protected status or loss of the required alias. The flag is computed when read; it is not a notification or an automatic end.
Review the worklist
- Open Sponsorships and inspect the needs-transfer banner.
- Choose Show them to list affected live beneficiary sponsorships.
- Open the exact record and review its warning and history.
- Agree whether to end it or transfer support to an active facility/programme.
- Record the decision through the supported action, then reload the relevant records.
The beneficiary's detailed alias projection can disappear when eligibility ends. Do not copy a previously visible alias or seek real identity to bypass the current projection.
Transfer fields
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
| To | FACILITY or PROGRAMME; not another beneficiary |
| Target | Active tenant Care target; verify exact ID if a numeric fallback is shown |
| Reason | Required, maximum 500 characters |
Transfer procedure and effect
- Open the live sponsorship detail.
- In Transfer, select To and the approved target.
- Enter the reason and choose Transfer.
- Inspect the resulting new sponsorship and its Transferred from link.
- Open the old record and verify ENDED with its transfer reason.
The new record retains sponsor, fund, commitment and notes, starts on the server's current date, retains a future old end date where applicable and links to the old sponsorship. Do not assume this date follows the Charity finance business calendar. The old record and its history/updates remain evidence; transfer does not move donations or create receipt records.
Example: Willow-27's profile-sharing consent expires. Omar sees Needs transfer, agrees support for North Facility and transfers. The old beneficiary relationship ends; the new facility relationship starts. No beneficiary identity is added to the sponsor profile.
Recovery
An existing ACTIVE/PAUSED sponsorship for the same sponsor and destination blocks a duplicate transfer. Review that destination relationship before proceeding. If lookup choices are empty, verify the approved target through an authorised process; detail may show a numeric target fallback. Do not use another tenant's ID.
A paused ineligible beneficiary sponsorship cannot resume. Ending or transfer is a deliberate officer action; refreshing the worklist never performs it automatically. If the transfer response is uncertain, inspect both original history and candidate new records before retrying.
